Freshman Attendants:

 

Nyla Sheftic

 

Miss Nyla Bryanna Sheftic is a freshman at Hardin County High School, and the 15 year old daughter of David Sheftic. Nyla’s grandparents are Darlene Michaels and Nicholas Sheftic.  Some of Nyla’s interests and activities include cheerleading, FFA junior officer, and Scholar Bowl.  Nyla loves hanging out with family and friends. She especially likes making new friends.  When Nyla was asked what career she was considering, she stated, “I would like a career in cosmetology. I feel this career would make me happy.  I have always loved doing hair, makeup, and nails.  I enjoy helping people feel good about themselves and to help them feel more confident.” 

 

Levi Snyder

 

Mr. Levi Zachary Snyder is a freshman at Hardin County High School, and the 15 year old son of Jason and Austin Snyder, and a brother to Luke.  Levi’s grandparents are Patty Pritchett and the late Don Pritchett, and Eddie and Sharon Snyder.  Levi is lucky to have great grandparents J.C. and Shirlie Schutt.  Some of Levi’s interests and activities include baseball, and basketball.  When Levi was asked what career he was considering, he stated “I’m would like a career in baseball.  At this time I am unsure what area in baseball I will pursue, but it will be in baseball.” 

 

Sophomore Attendants:

 

Madeline Kaylor

 

Miss Madeline Kimmel Kaylor is a sophomore at Hardin County High School, and the 15 year old daughter of Annie Kaylor and Marty Kaylor.  Madeline is the sister to Michael, Angela, and Mallory.  Madeline’s grandparents are the late Clyde and the late Hazel Kaylor; the late Dr. John and the late Virginia Duffy.  Some of Madeline’s interests and activities include: Student Council, Scholar Bowl, Chess Club, High Honor Roll, reading, writing, traveling, and spending time with friends, family, and her cat. When Madeline was asked what career she was considering, she stated, “I am interested in pursuing a career as a human rights lawyer.  This is interesting to me because I feel I would be able to make a positive and tangible change in people’s lives.” 

 

Aiden Vaughn

 

Mr. Aiden James Vaughn is a sophomore at Hardin County High School, and the 15 year old son of Dena and Justin Hastie and Danny Vaughn.  Aiden is a brother to Avery and Alexander Hastie, and Kamryn and Raylee Vaughn.  Aiden’s grandparents are Barney and Sherry Hastie, Chester and Penny Holbrook, and Jim and Diann Vaughn.  Some of Aiden’s interests and activities include golf, archery, Scholar Bowl, and FFA.  When Aiden was asked what career he was considering, he stated, “I would like to be an engineer, because I enjoy math and science.  At this time I am unsure what field of engineering I plan to pursue.”

 

Junior Attendants:

Makayla Rose

 

Miss Makayla Lynn Rose is a junior at Hardin County High School, and the 16 year old daughter of Bridgid and Eddie Rose.  Makayla is the little sister to John.  Makayla’s grandparents are the late Dr. John and Virginia Duffey, and Shirley and the late Lyndale Rose.  Some of Makayla’s interest and activities include Student Council, FFA, Basketball, and Drama Club.  I like shopping, working, riding four wheelers, traveling and spending time with friends and family.  When Makayla was asked what career she was considering, she stated, “I would like to be a traveling nurse.  I want to help people and travel to remote areas that have limited, or no access to health care.  Nursing is an ever changing field with advancements being made each day, and I would like to be part of those changes.”

 

Lance Ditterline

 

Mr. Lance Edward Ditterline is a junior at Hardin County High School, and the 17 year old son of Ray and Crystal Borum, and a brother to Aiden.  Lance’s grandparents are Ralph and Reva Ditterline.  Some of Lance’s interests and activities include: being a member of the basketball and baseball team.  Lance enjoys camping and working on his 1969 Chevy pickup truck with his dad.  When Lance was asked what career he was considering, he replied, “I would like to pursue a career as a diesel mechanic.  I enjoy working with my dad on my truck, and I feel I would enjoy a career in this field.”

 Kailey Sneed

 

Miss Kailey Rose Sneed is a senior at Hardin County High School and the 17 year old daughter of Meranda and Gary Vaughn and Jeff and Carol Sneed.  Kailey is a sister to Bailey and Brantley.  Kailey’s grandparents are Gary and Rose Mary Shores, Linda and the late Avery Sneed, Cindy Vaughn, and Butch and Lisa Davis.  Kailey is involved in school activities such as: Student Council, Cheerleading, Drama Club, NHS, and Yearbook when school is normal and the coronavirus isn’t ruining most things. Kailey’s interests include spending time with family and friends, doing things such as hiking and swimming, when it’s not too cold. “I have a lot of animals and also love spending time with them, especially my fat hamster Cheeto.  My favorite thing to do, above all, is eat!”  When Kailey was asked what career she was considering, she replied, “My goal is to pursue a career as a pharmacy technician.  I work at the Hardin County Pharmacy and love every day of it.  No matter what happens in my life or where I go, there will always be someone in need of medicine and I could possibly help save their life.”

 Lilianna Steele

 

Miss Liliana Alexia Steele is a senior at Hardin County High School, and the 17 year old daughter of Guillermina Cervantes Perez and her father, Jason Steele.  Liliana is the sister to Yanesa, Miriam, Lynn, Bianca, and Christian.  Liliana’s grandmother is Cynthia Steele.  Some of Liliana’s interests and activities include: Senior Class President and President of FFA - Major Officer.  When Liliana was asked what career she was considering, she replied, “I am considering a career as a social worker, because I would like to help take children out of bad situations such as a bad home life.  I would love to help them find a voice that would impact their lives forever.” 

 

 Lane Williams

 

Miss Lane Marie Williams is a senior at Hardin County High School, and the 18 year old daughter of Ricky and Britta Williams and Julia Williams.  Lane is a sister to Morgan, Carson, Jaxson and Tinzlee.  Lane’s grandparents are Richard and the late Toni Williams, Jane Shaw, and Randy Blundy.  Some of Lane’s interests and activities include: softball, National Honor Society, and Academic Challenge.  When Lane was asked what career she was considering, she replied, “I am wanting to pursue a career as an elementary teacher.  My dream to teach comes from the desire to make a greater impact on students and show them how fun learning can be.  I have always wanted to be able to help people, so being a teacher gives me the perfect opportunity to do just that.”

Melissa Winters

 

Miss Melissa Paige Winters is a senior at Hardin County High School, and the 17 year old daughter of Jon and Laura Winters.  Melissa is the sister to Jacey and Jake.  Melissa’s grandparents are Ron and Cheryl McDowell, and the late Bob and Rose Winters.  Some of Melissa’s interests and activities include: National Honor Society, Scholar Bowl, Academic Challenge, Vice President of the Senior Class, softball, volleyball, and Drama Club.  When Melissa was asked what career she was considering, she stated, “I would like to pursue a career in nursing, more specifically as a Nurse Anesthetist.  I have wanted to work within the medical field for as long as I can remember.  Growing up, my grandmother worked at our community hospital, so I spent plenty of time there visiting with her.  Even though my grandmother worked in the records department, the atmosphere kindled my love for the nursing field.  I want to pursue a career that makes an impact on lives, or even make a difference for the better.  Because of this, the nursing program just seems like the perfect fit for me.”

  

King Candidates:

Calen Banks

 

Mr. Calen Bradley Banks is a senior at Hardin County High School and the 17 year old son of Loni Jo and Brad Banks He is the brother to Raegan.  Calen’s grandparents are Judy and Doug Kaegi; David and Linda Banks; and great-grandparents Lonnie and the late Shirley Lewis.  Some of Calen’s interests and activities include: spending time with his girlfriend Laken Moore, baseball, basketball, golf, and archery.  Calen also enjoys fishing tournaments and spending time with friends.  Calen very much enjoys and states his hard core passion is hunting.  When Calen was asked what career he was considering, he stated, “Farming, my great grandfather is a farmer and I enjoy working with him.  Grandpa Lonnie has taught me a great deal and I not only love working with him, I love him.”

 

Jermaine Johnson

 

Mr. Jermaine Lee Johnson is a senior at Hardin County High School, and the 18 year old son of Danielle O’Donnell. He is the brother to Johnny, Jalen, Isaiah, and Aariana.  Jermaine’s grandparents are Linda Barton and the late James Gawel.  Some of Jermaine’s interests and activities include:  Hardin County High School Basketball, hanging out with friends, playing video games, working, but his greatest passion is to have money.  When Jermaine was asked what career he was considering, he stated, “I am interested in pursuing a career in real estate.  My interest in real estate peaked when watching shows on how to make a community better by flipping houses.  Being in real estate can take me anywhere in the world and the job opportunities are limitless.” 

 

Johnny Johnson

 

Mr. Johnny Lee Johnson is a senior at Hardin County High School and the 18 year old son of Danielle O’Donnell. He is a brother to Jermaine, Jalen, Isaiah, and Aariana.  Johnny’s grandparents are Linda Barton and the late James Gawel.  The love of his life is his newborn baby girl, Delilah Nalani Johnson.  Some of Johnny’s interests and activities include: National Honor Society and high school basketball.  Johnny also loves spending time with family, listening to music, playing games with friends, exploring the outdoors, and enjoying the small things in life.  When Johnny was asked what career he was considering, he stated, “I am planning to pursue a career in nursing.  I would like to become an RN and to help people.  My interest in becoming an RN began when I had family members that I love pass away and I wanted very much to help them.”

Lucas Smith

 

Mr. Lucas Bradley Smith is a senior at Hardin County High School, and the 18 year old son of Vicky and Brad Smith. He is a brother to Ashlyn and Alyssa.  Lucas’ grandparents are the late Loy and Betty Smith; Patty Oglesby and the late Junior Oglesby.  Some of Lucas interests and activities include: being a member of the Academic Challenge Team and NHS.  Lucas enjoys riding four wheelers and hanging out with friends and family.  When Lucas was asked what career he was considering, he replied, “I would like to pursue a career as a doctor, because I enjoy talking to and helping people out.  I want to make a difference in this world after all the turmoil this year has brought, and the tireless efforts from the medical field.  I want to step up and make a difference.  I am still planning to take over the floating river restaurant and rule over all as the Fried Fish King!”
